League Baseball Contract

A major league baseball contract is a legal contract used by baseball teams in order to secure players for their team. A major league baseball contract is generally a multi year contract with a set annual salary, though options for performance bonuses may also be included in the contract, allowing the player a chance to make more money. Signing bonuses are also common in major league baseball contracts. Signing bonuses are monetary payments made when a player signs a contract, and are offered as an incentive to get a player to commit to a baseball contract. Signing bonuses can often be over a million dollars for the most sought after players. Special perks are also common, and have caused outrage among many. Various critics argue that baseball contracts are often too frivolous and expensive, with even the most inexperienced and mediocre players earning large sums of money, often without doing much in the way of baseball playing.
