Football Contract

A football contract is a legal contract entered into between a football team and a football player. A football contract is signed for a specific amount of time, and the player who signs the football contract is obligated to play for the football team for the duration of the contract. A football contract will include the football player's salary and other bonuses or benefits. Sports agents are often hired by football players to negotiate football contracts in order to get the best possible contract for a player. Sports agents are paid handsomely for their work negotiating the terms of football contracts. A football contract may also include clauses relating to performance bonuses, penalties for inappropriate player behavior, opt out clauses, and what types of settlements are available in the case of injury. Some teams outlaw certain risky behavior by players in their contracts, such as motorcycle riding, in order to reduce the risk of injury.
