Contract For Artist

Legal agreements are made for a variety of different kinds of issues relating to arts and entertainment, and often the terms of an agreement may be specifically tailored to fit the particular contract. For artist agreements involving the fine arts, gallery agreements and contracts for commissioned works are common. A contract for artist rights regarding reproductions of creative works are also common. A reproduction contract may be used when a company uses an artist's images on t-shirts or other merchandise. The company may pay an artist an advance or lump sum payment, or guarantee the artist a portion of the profits from merchandise sales under the terms of the contract. A recording artist contract is another type of entertainment related contract. These contracts are used in the music industry to hire songwriters or to make publishing deals to record and distribute albums. A contract for artist development is an agreement to promote and help develop the talent of a new musical artist. These contracts can be risky for new artists, as they often take creative control away from the individual artist.
