Baseball Contracts Guaranteed

Guaranteed contracts are common in both basketball and baseball contracts. Guaranteed contracts ensure that a player will receive monetary compensation even if the player is cut from the team before his contract is up. A guaranteed contract may stipulate that the team must continue to pay the player's salary entirely, though clauses often exist allowing teams to stop payment is the player is traded or contracted by another team. A guaranteed contract may also require a team to pay a specific fee to a player in order to terminate a contract early. The fee will be a percentage, though not all, of the player's salary. While basketball and baseball contracts are often guaranteed, football contracts are not guaranteed. Football players who are cut early from a team receive no more monetary payments, and the contract is voided. Because of this, basketball and baseball contracts are generally considered to be more secure for players than football contracts.
